Nutri-Hub: Local Nutrition, Powered by Youth
Hidden Hunger in Cameroon’s Breadbasket
The Muea–Buea corridor feeds thousands. But up to 50% of fresh, nutrient-rich vegetables rot before reaching families. During rainy season, the road to market turns to swamp.
The result? Anemia in women. Stunting in children. A broken food system where farmers lose income and kids miss nutrients — in a region full of farms and youth.
Our Solution: A Closed-Loop Nutrition Hub
1. Biofortified Seeds
We equip 300 farmers with High-Iron Beans MAC-33 and Pro-Vitamin A Maize Sammaz 14. Nutrition is grown right into the crop’s DNA.
2. Solar Processing
Crops are dehydrated within hours at our Solar Hub. This locks in 90% of micronutrients and gives food a 1+ year shelf life.
3. Youth-Led Delivery
A Youth-Led Cooperative mills powders and sells affordable “Micro-Dose” sachets. One sachet = complete protein for a child’s meal.
12-Month Pilot Impact Goals
Why Start in Muea–Buea?
- Critical Food Artery: Muea supplies Buea’s 300,000 residents via Mile 17.
- Youth Density: 60%+ of Cameroon is under 25. 70%+ of migrants here are youth seeking opportunity.
- Stress Test: If Nutri-Hub works despite “swamp” roads and insecurity, it works anywhere.
