Healthy Harvest Pilot: Southwest Cameroon

Shekinah Farms Inc. in partnership with The Gadfly Project

$400,000 Pilot
12 Months
2 Hubs
100+ Farmers

1. The Problem

In Southwest Cameroon, 40% of crops are lost post-harvest. Farmers have no electricity for storage, no processing equipment, and no trusted buyers. The result: families grow food that rots before it reaches markets, while communities face hunger and import dependence.

The gap isn’t production — it’s preservation. Without village-level infrastructure, harvests become losses.

2. The Solution: Healthy Harvest

Healthy Harvest Hubs are solar-powered, village-level agro-processing centers that dry, mill, and package crops on-site. Every transaction is tracked on The Gadfly Project digital platform for full transparency from farm to buyer.

Each hub serves 50+ farmers within 5km, providing:

  • 50kW solar power — reliable energy for processing + cold storage
  • Post-harvest equipment — dryers, millers, packaging lines
  • Digital traceability — inventory, payments, and impact tracked in real-time
  • Guaranteed market — Shekinah aggregates and sells to institutional buyers

3. Why It Wins

Provision in the Community

Shekinah means “provision that dwells in the community.” Hubs are owned and operated locally, creating jobs and keeping value in villages.

Fully Traceable

Funders see every bag processed. Buyers verify origin. Farmers get paid same-day via mobile money. Zero leakage.

Scales to 100 Hubs

This 2-hub pilot proves the model. Our vision: 100 micro-hubs across Cameroon in the Shekinah Distributed Food Systems Network.

4. Our Structure: 3-Layer Implementation

5. Use of Funds: $400,000

6. 12-Month Milestones

7. Impact Metrics – 1 Year
